SUMMARY:MasterWorks III:  “Pasion Latina”
DESCRIPTION:This MasterWorks performance brings to life a concert previously planned for our 2020 season.  However it\, like many concerts around the world\, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We are thankful that our original guest artists\, Angelo Favis\, is able to come to Muscatine to bring one of the most famous guitar concertos to life with our orchestra.  A truly wonderful concert full of Latin inspired compositions.  Composers from Mexico\, Spain\, and France will certainly add some flare to the evening!\n\n“A Delicious Combination” Dinner and Concert Event\nAlong-side an evening of masterful music\, the MSO’s annual dinner and concert event will take place just before the concert.  This IS the PERFECT gift for a loved on on Valentine’s Day.

SUMMARY:Howe Foundation Young Artist Competition
DESCRIPTION:This annual competition is open to all musicians in grades 9-12 who reside or take music lessons within 50 miles of Muscatine\, Iowa\, and perform piano\, voice\, strings\, woodwinds\, brass or percussion. \nOne participant will be invited to perform his/her piece with the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra on March 9\, 2024 as a part of MasterWorks IV: “Cultures That Connect Us.” Scholarships will be awarded for the top THREE winners for summer music camps and workshops. \nAwards\n\nFirst place – $500\nSecond place – $300\nThird place – $200\n\nEntrants must provide their own piano accompaniment for the audition. \nSubmit entry application to:\nMuscatine Symphony Orchestra\nPO Box 573 ~ Muscatine\, IA 52761\nOr email to: msopersonnelmuscatine@gmail.com \nApplications are due January 25\, 2024!
