Julie Plummer has been a member of the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra “since the beginning.”
Through the years, she has been able to perform music by a myriad of composers Her favorite? Mozart. “Because of his clarinet concerto, and because his music seems happy.”
In 2008, the symphony was the featured orchestra for IPTV’s series “Symphonies of Iowa.” During that performance, Julie was able to “play the opening to Rhapsody in Blue when Rei Hotoda performed the piece with us.”
When she was a little girl, Julie recalls “sitting beside my grandma on the bench as she played the organ… and bringing a cello home to play that was bigger than me!”
