Auditions

Auditions for the orchestra will be held prior to the first rehearsal in the fall. Supplemental audition times may be scheduled with the Music Director at various times though the season. New members will play a short audition for an independent panel of judges which may include the section principal. Audition excerpts, scales, solo/etude, possibly sight reading (usually 7-10 minutes total).  Fill out this FORM and return to the MSO so we can schedule your audition.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held subsequent weeks leading up to each MasterWorks concert, Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:00 p.m. in Strahan Hall at Muscatine Community College. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday concert week rehearsals are usually at the performance venue.

Credit

Currently, a number of people are eligible to receive course credit through MCC for orchestra participation. These are: MCC students, local high school students, and continuing education.
