Heather Turner

Heather Turner has been concertmaster for the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra since 2010.  Her earliest musical memory was intently watching the pianist during church.  “I loved sitting in the front pew every weekend to study the pianists hands at the piano!”

Her favorite composer??

“I can’t pick just one or even a few… I find enjoyment in listening to almost any genre of music.  I tend to lean most heavily toward the romantics, veering toward 20th century:  Brahms, Saint-Saëns, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Mahler, Sibelius, and Tchaikovsky.

With all of the performance with the MSO, which is your most memorable?

“The Steve March-Tormé was probably one of my favorite concerts.  Every year I look forward to all the kids at our holiday concert, the energy and excitement is fabulous with an auditorium full of little voices.”
