Young Artist Competition

Each MasterWorks season, the Muscatine Symphony is proud to hold a competition for young musicians that includes scholarship prize monies as well as the opportunity to perform with the Symphony on its March MasterWorks concert.

Many previous winners have gone on to top music schools and careers in music.

Even with the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, Maestro Dollinger believes that continuing this musical opportunity for our young musicians is paramount,  “Hours and hours of hard work in preparations should not go unnoticed.”

The 2020-2021 competition’s auditions will be “virtual.”  Each competitor will submit an unedited recorded video file of their performance for judging.
