In addition to seven concerts each year, Muscatine Symphony Orchestra gives back to the community by helping the next generation of musicians. The musicians’ support of the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra Boosters (muskieorchestras.org) encourages school-age musicians to hone their craft and play alongside Muscatine Symphony Orchestra. Young musicians audition and play in the Young Artist Concert each spring.

Two Muscatine Symphony Orchestra musicians serve as orchestra directors at Muscatine schools: cellist Jessica Blanchard at both middle schools and bassist Jonathan Thomas at Muscatine High School and Colorado, Grant and Jefferson elementaries. Both also teach private lessons as well.
