Connie Armstrong
Instrument:  Violin

Connie grew up in Iowa City and started playing the violin in 5th grade. She enjoyed playing all through school. After college she moved to Muscatine and in 1975 joined the orchestra at Muscatine Community College. When that was dissolved after a few years, she stopped playing her violin! When Jan Phillips and Dr. Beverly Everett created the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra, she began using her talents once again. She even has been playing for weddings and other special events, thanks to participating in orchestra.

She is married to Otis, professor of Horse Science at Kirkwood Community College. They have a daughter, Brooke, studying anthropology and Asian studies at Augustana. Brooke also participates in the Augustana Choir. The family is very excited for her because Brooke’s studies will be taking her all over the world in her final year. Connie is a full time dental
hygienist in addition to being a Mary Kay beauty consultant. She really enjoys the orchestra!
